The Posadas of the Santa Barbara Mining Trail
The Posadas of the Santa Barbara Mining Trail are official hostels directly managed by the Foundation, designed to provide hospitality to pilgrims and hikers along the trail. The term “Posada” echoes the ancient meaning of shelter or inn and, in the Sardinian language, means “small hotel.”
These facilities offer simple, low-cost accommodation and beds, in keeping with the spirit of the trail, and provide a reliable support point as they are open all year round by reservation only.
Very often, the Posadas are former public buildings that had been abandoned and have been renovated and converted into accommodation facilities by the CMSB Foundation.
At the Posadas you can only book beds in shared rooms. We will do our best to assign guests in a way that ensures the greatest possible comfort. A Pilgrim’s Credential is required to access the Posadas.
